Isn't that a bit dangerous? All the advice is to not use Root unless neccessary and then only from a user account.

so they say, however i have been the root user on all my machines for 27 years,
when i first started with linux i made backups of everything, which should be mandatory anyway, so if i messed up i just restore whatever it was i messed up and that was a lot while i was learning but nothing major
it's a bit of a battle these days with the developers disabling all sorts for root but nothing that can't be overcome :D

Yes indeed, backups are imperative.

I'll just stick to my user account for now I think.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
